Since 1960 Museum is housed permanently at the building of the old Parliament which is located in Stadiou Street (Kolokotronis Square). Its object the history of Modern Greece: the period of Ottoman and Frankish, the revolution of 1821, the liberation struggles, the creation of an independent government, political, social and spiritual development of Hellenism as it is up today. In its permanent exhibition, beside paintings and engravings, flags and weapons from national liberation struggles, personal items of historical figures, documents and photos, utensils and tools as well as traditional costumes and creations of Greek handicraft, presents the historical way of Hellenism, symbolically from the Fall of Constantinople (1453) until the Greek-Italian war 1940-41.
